High-level strategic roundtable
High Level Round Table — AMEISS Mauritania – Canary Islands · Second stage

Welcome
In October 2025, the first edition of AMEISS brought together institutions and companies from Mauritania and the Canary Islands in Nouakchott around a single conviction: without electricity there is no possible industrialisation. The meeting exceeded expectations and opened the door to a second stage.
That second stage takes place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on 23 July 2026. It is not a repeat of the first meeting but its continuation: a strategic follow-up in petit comité, designed to turn the opportunities already identified into concrete projects.
It will bring together around forty high-level decision-makers from the energy, electricity, industry, logistics, ports, infrastructure and investment sectors, in a closed working format in which every participant takes the floor.

From AMEISS to Las Palmas
AMEISS Nouakchott 2025 built trust, identified shared priorities and connected the actors of both shores. Las Palmas is the next stage: moving from diagnosis to execution.
Throughout the day, participants will work on real cases: concrete needs set out by Mauritanian organisations, technical, industrial and financial answers brought by the Canary Islands ecosystem, and bilateral meetings arranged in advance.
The success of this meeting will not be measured by the number of attendees, but by the projects that begin to take shape after it.
Why this meeting?
Mauritania holds exceptional energy resources, an unprecedented project pipeline and a clear political will to industrialise its economy. What is missing is not potential: it is the partnerships, the technologies and the financing that turn that potential into installed capacity, industry and jobs.
This meeting exists to close that gap, by putting those who hold the projects and those who hold the solutions in the same room.
Why now?
The investment decisions taken over the next twenty-four months will shape the country's energy and industrial model for decades.
Why the Canary Islands?
The Canary Islands are the closest European gateway to Mauritania: a proven industrial, port and energy ecosystem, three flight hours from Nouakchott.
Strategic objectives
Bring together, in petit comité, those with real decision-making power on both shores.
Put real projects on the table, with a defined scope, timeline and needs.
Turn available energy into industrial capacity, added value and local jobs.
Bring projects closer to banks, investors and financing instruments.
Consolidate the archipelago as a technical, logistics and industrial platform towards Mauritania.
Lay the foundations of stable partnerships between companies and institutions.
Method and principles
The meeting is run as a roundtable led by two moderators. Every participant has speaking time, contributions are grounded in experience, and the whole conversation is directed at an outcome: a project, a partnership or a next step.
