More than thirty years devoted to economic cooperation, investment promotion and private-sector development.
Nayra Delgado is an independent international consultant, founder and director of GGWorld and Mauritania Gateway. Her career, which began in international economic journalism, has progressively expanded into economic intelligence, nation branding, investment promotion, business mobilisation, the creation of economic platforms and the design of international forums.
Since 1998, she has worked in more than twenty-five countries across Europe, Africa, the Gulf and Latin America — Spain, Scotland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Mauritania, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Cape Verde, the DRC, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Panama, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Puerto Rico, El Salvador and Honduras.
This career spans more than one hundred international projects, the creation of several organisations and structuring initiatives, and the mobilisation of governments, European institutions, development agencies, professional organisations, investors and private companies.

Nayra Delgado began her international career in November 1998 as a correspondent and economic journalist for ACAN-EFE in Panama. She covered economic and institutional news, companies, investment and relations between the public and private sectors, and interviewed political, institutional and business leaders.
This first experience gave her a practical understanding of how institutions, emerging markets and international economic communication work.

In August 1999, she joined Reuters as a correspondent and deputy bureau chief in Panama, where she worked until December 2003. As the bureau consisted of two people, she directly took charge of its coordination in the chief's absence.
She covered economic, financial and political news in Central America, followed markets, public institutions and companies, and was responsible for writing, editorial control and the international distribution of news.

Between 2003 and 2005, Nayra Delgado worked as an economic journalist and producer for World Investment News: economic research, market analysis, interviews with public institutions and business leaders, and coordination of reports aimed at international investors.
Among other work, she contributed to the production of a report on Honduras for the Spanish daily ABC. Her activity covered Latin America and Europe, including an extended period in Ukraine.

In 2008, Nayra Delgado founded Global Gulf Consulting, now GGWorld (or GGCWorld): an international consultancy specialising in investment promotion, private-sector development, international economic cooperation, nation branding, economic intelligence, institutional communication, public-private partnerships and the organisation of international forums.
Since its creation, GGWorld has supported governments, public agencies, donors, professional organisations, foundations, investors and private companies. Nayra Delgado is responsible for its strategic, commercial, editorial, administrative and operational management.
GGWorld's work in the Gulf countries has produced several flagship publications combining market intelligence, territorial promotion, institutional interviews and showcasing of the private sector. In total, Nayra Delgado has been the author, director or editorial coordinator of more than twelve international investment guides and more than twenty economic reports — published in or developed for outlets such as BusinessWeek, The Washington Post, US News & World Report, ABC, Der Tagesspiegel and Qatar Airways Inflight Magazine.
Having established her operations in Mauritania in 2019, Nayra Delgado founded Mauriprod in October 2020 and served as its Managing Director until March 2023.
Mauriprod developed services in institutional and corporate communication, digital marketing, audiovisual production, visual identity, media relations, website design and event organisation — strengthening her ability to manage local teams and projects combining strategy, content, visibility and delivery.

Since March 2022, Nayra Delgado has designed and coordinated an ongoing programme of bilateral trade missions between Mauritania and the Canary Islands: identifying and mobilising companies, investors, ministries and institutions; preparing programmes; B2B agendas; technical visits; accompanying delegations and following up on opportunities.
The missions have covered healthcare, renewable energy, industry, infrastructure, ports, logistics, training and services.

In 2023, Nayra Delgado created Mauritania Gateway, the operational extension of GGWorld in Mauritania, dedicated to economic intelligence, investment promotion, business matchmaking and the structuring of sector ecosystems.
The platform connects Mauritanian institutions and companies with international partners — with particular focus on the European Union and the Canary Islands — and produces reports, sector briefings, missions, specialist content, events and meeting spaces for public and private stakeholders.
From 2023 onwards, Nayra Delgado strengthened her work in Mauritania by creating or developing several permanent structures: the Canario-Mauritanian Foundation (cooperation, vocational training, employability and capacity building); the Mauritanian-Spanish Business Council (COEME), which she co-founded and leads; and the European Investors Club in Mauritania (CIEM), which she co-founded and of which she is Vice-President.
Since 2024, she has also served as PROEXCA's Business Consul in Mauritania, contributing to the economic presence of the Canary Islands in the Canary Islands–Mauritania corridor.

Ahead of the launch of the major forums of 2025, Nayra Delgado coordinated several sector meetings bringing together public and private stakeholders, laying the foundations of a model that combines market knowledge, institutional mobilisation, company identification, B2B meetings, communication and follow-up of opportunities.

Nayra Delgado created and organised MEDEX Mauritania, an international trade fair and conference dedicated to healthcare, medical equipment, telemedicine, training and health partnerships.
The event brings together more than one hundred exhibitors and held its second edition in 2025. Her role covers concept development, mobilisation of institutions and companies, programming, communication, supplier management and operational coordination.
In collaboration with Diagnóstica Europa (telemedicine).
In 2025, Nayra Delgado designed and organised AMEISS, an international economic forum dedicated to the maritime, energy, industrial, port and logistics sectors.
The summit brought together more than sixty Spanish companies, around five hundred participants and numerous representatives of public and private institutions. Nayra Delgado was responsible for the forum's design, programme, stakeholder mobilisation, B2B meetings, technical visits, institutional communication and logistics supervision.

As part of the Tierra Firme project, Nayra Delgado coordinates in Mauritania a vocational training programme in construction trades, developed with the Government of the Canary Islands, the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción de Las Palmas, the Canario-Mauritanian Foundation, Techghil and the Lycée Technique de Nouakchott.
The project combines technical training, rehabilitation of teaching facilities, entrepreneurship modules, partnerships with companies and support towards internships and employment.

In 2025, Nayra Delgado founded the first Mauritanian cluster dedicated to fashion, design and textiles. Mauritania Fashion Cluster supports more than twenty Mauritanian brands through sector structuring, training, mentoring, collection development, communication, international promotion and market access.

Nayra Delgado created Quantum Training, an international online vocational training platform dedicated to developing technical skills in Mauritania's main sectors: energy, mining, industry, green hydrogen and emerging trades.
The platform illustrates her ability to turn field experience into digital tools for training, certification and capacity building.

Nayra Delgado supported the Embassy of Spain in Mauritania in coordinating private-sector partnerships, communication and audiovisual production for Spain's National Day — building on her experience in economic diplomacy and the organisation of high-level institutional events.

In 2026, Nayra Delgado led the design and operational management of Electricity for Industrialisation – Strategic Energy Roundtable, held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as a follow-on to AMEISS, bringing together public decision-makers, business leaders, port stakeholders, investors and energy and industry experts from Mauritania and the Canary Islands.
Her role covered the concept and programme, technical content, coordination of institutional partners, mobilisation of companies and authorities, speaker selection, B2B meetings and supervision of services (communication, audiovisual, interpretation, logistics, catering, transport).
Nayra Delgado's career combines skills rarely found in a single profile: first-hand knowledge of Mauritania, more than twenty-five years of international experience, institutional mobilisation, access to the Mauritanian and European private sectors, economic intelligence, the design of digital platforms, the organisation of high-level forums and operational project follow-up.
Her experience goes beyond organising events: it lies in understanding markets, identifying the right counterparts, mobilising institutions and companies, structuring content, building the conditions for trust, facilitating B2B meetings and turning dialogue into concrete partnerships and projects.
Through GGWorld and Mauritania Gateway, she now has a permanent ecosystem connecting the priorities of the European Union and Global Gateway with Mauritania's institutions, companies, investors and professional organisations.
