A high-level closed-door round table bringing Mauritanian and Canarian decision-makers around one question: how electricity unlocks industrialisation. Some forty participants — utilities, ministries, banks, ports and industrial groups — worked through the projects on both shores, from generation and the 225 kV backbone to port capability and the financing behind it.

The conference in Nouakchott presented the new projects approved under the Interreg MAC Programme, within the framework of the ATLANTE Strategic Project, aimed at strengthening cooperation between Europe and Africa.
The event brought together high-level representatives including the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, the European Union Ambassador, the Spanish Ambassador to Mauritania, and Mauritania's Minister of Economy and Finance.
The approved projects focus on key sectors such as the Blue Economy, renewable energy, business innovation, education and training, and mobility cooperation. Notably, 9 of the 10 projects include Mauritanian partners, highlighting Mauritania's growing strategic role in Atlantic cooperation.
